Gareth, you will be so greatly missed! Your strategic vision to reform the Opticians Act, and improve the standards and education for optometrists and dispensing opticians has driven the work of the General Optical Council over the last 10 years. I will personally miss your fun and good humour and I will always remember and be grateful for the support and confidence you gave me right from my very first day on the job.
