Gregarious, Artistic, Respectful, Encouraging, Thoughtful and Honest. Gareth was a strong supporter of The Spectacle Makers' Company and he will be much missed. He regularly invited guests from different worlds so they could understand more, both about the heritage of the City and the modern challenges of eye health care and they could share his enjoyment in starting interesting conversations and continuing them informally later on. Always concerned for the good of humanity in general, he clearly delighted in being with people and his passion for music was evident to all. Let us hope the angels are singing at their best and the trumpets are sounding beautiful on the other side...
