This is really sad news - I fondly remember my time working with Gareth at the GOC. I remember his passionate advocacy for reform in the optical sector, especially education; but even moreso, his warmth and good humour as a colleague, his stories and our many chats setting the world to rights! My condolences to all of his family and friends.
