I've just heard the very sad news about Gareth. He was so full of life, I cannot imagine him gone. On behalf of everyone at the Nursing and Midwifery Council I'm sending sympathy and condolences to Gareth's family and friends. From my personal perspective, it was lovely to find Gareth in the world of professional regulation as I first knew him as an Appointments Commissioner when I was Chief Executive 2007-2012. His acerbic wit, twinkle in his eye and a never ending supply of amusing anecdotes made him such an entertaining colleague and one who really cared about people. May he rest in peace.
