Discovering this news on the internet has come as a terrible shock. I first met Gareth more than 50 years ago through our membership of the Harrow East Labour Party. He was elected as a Councillor for the Harrow Weald Ward in 1974 and throughout his life he was devoted to public service both through his professional work and in his retirement. Has the funeral taken place? If not, does anybody know the details?
