Discovering this news on the internet has come as a terrible shock. I first met Gareth more than 50 years ago when we were both members of Harrow East Labour Party. He was elected as a Councillor for the Harrow Weald Ward in 1974 and he devoted much of his life to public service both in his professional work and in his retirement. Has the funeral taken place? If not, does anybody have the details please?
